ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS

Papers will be published as presented by author. Proof read and edit your paper!

Criteria for Presentations:

  • Due to limited time allotments (oral presentations) and available space for posters (poster presentations), we will accept a limit of one (1) abstract per registered colleague.
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the ISMR conference web site. Please limit your abstracts to 350 words or less. Mailed, emailed or faxed abstracts will not be accepted.
    NOTE: If you have problems with submitting your paper on our website, contact ISMR administration office for assistance.
  • Presenters are solely responsible for submission and subsequent ISMR's receipt of their abstract papers.
    NOTE: If you did not receive a receipt from the ISMR administration office, we most likely did not receive your paper.
  • Acceptance of papers are restricted due to limited time allotments for oral presentations and available space for poster presentations.
    NOTE:Submit you papers early.
  • All presenters must pay conference fees prior to March 31, 2010.
    NOTE:Poster paper will be removed from program, conference program book and poster competition if author has not registered prior to March 15, 2010.
  • The International Society for Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (ISMR) requires that all speakers shall disclose any affiliation with and financial interest in a company or a product related to the subject matter of the presentation as a part of the Speaker’s Agreement. 
  • All poster authors must be present during the Poster Session.
  • Poster authors can not assign their poster to another delegate for presentation.
  • No travel compensation is provided for abstract presenters (oral or poster).
Presenting abstracts (oral and poster) will be printed in the conference program book.

Submission Deadline Dates:

Oral Presentations- February 1, 2010 - CLOSED -
NOTE: The ISMR is not accepting any additional Oral Abstracts

Oral abstract presentations are restricted to a fifteen (15) minute time allotment- 12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions. Time allotments are limited and papers will be selected based on scientific content, submission date and available time.

Delegates not selected for Oral Presentation, are encouraged to submit a Poster Presentation.


Poster Presentations- March 31, 2010

All poster papers related to conference topics will be accepted, based on submission date, content and available space.
NOTE: Space is limited, so submit your poster abstracts early to ensure a poster location.

All accepted posters are eligible for Poster Awards.

Poster Presentations: Wednesday, 19th May (17:00-19:00)
The Program Committee considers posters an important contribution to the success of this conference. The poster presentations will be given particular emphasis at the conference. Many of the presentations will provide information that was thought to be better suited to the higher level of exposure and interaction that a poster presentation affords. For this reason, and given the nature of the conference, poster presentations are seen as an extremely important venue for information exchange.

Poster Awards

Author of any poster presented at the meeting will be eligible for Poster Award. Awards for Poster Presentations Poster Awards will be presented to the primary author for best poster

    1st Place: $1,000
    2nd Place: $500
    3rd Place: $500
Awards will be presented to the author at the Conference Banquet (Friday, May 21st). All contestants should attend.

  • Due to the large number of submitted posters, poster abstracts will be selected for judging prior to our meeting date. Selection will be based on content of abstract.
    NOTE:Prepare your abstract paper accordingly if you want to be considered for poster award.
  • No notification regarding selected papers will be disclosed or posted prior to meeting date. Those selected will be reviewed by a panel of judges during the Poster Session.
  • Primary author must be registered as a conference delegate and pay registration fees, prior to March 31, 2010.
  • Primary author of poster abstracts are required to be present during Poster Session. Co-authors are not required to be present.
  • Substitutions of the original primary author will eliminate paper from poster award competition.
Poster Format
  • Size of Poster: Poster sizes will be limited to 30 inches (76.2 cm) wide by 40 inches (101.6 cm) tall. Make sure you poster is printed to read 30 inches (76.2 cm) across - from left to right.
  • Poster boards will be available at conference site for display of your poster.
Poster Instructions
  • Attach you poster prior to 5:00pm - Wednesday May 19, 2010. Posters will be assigned to a poster board number listed in our Conference Program Book (distributed at conference site). Find your assigned poster board to display your poster.
  • Include abstract title and authors.
  • No audio/visual equipment will be allowed for poster presentation (No electrical will be available).
  • Poster should be self-explanatory so that you are free to supplement and discuss any points of inquiry. The poster session provides a more intimate forum for discussion than an oral presentation. This becomes difficult if you are obliged to devote most of your time explaining your poster to a succession of visitors.
