Fondazione Mediaterraneo
Sestri Levante, Italy

The 2010 ISMR Meeting will be held in Sestri Levante, Italy at the Fondazione Mediaterraneo Congress Center.  Sestri Levante is a very charming town in Liguria, Italy, on the Mediterranean Sea. While Portofino and the Cinque Terre are probably the most well known tourist destinations on the Italian Riviera, Sestri Levante is becoming quite a favorite among Italians. This once quiet fishing village is slowly turning into a tourist hotspot, developing an old and a new town.

The Foundation Mediaterraneo has its headquarters in Sestri Levante at the enchanting Baia del Silenzio in what was once an island overlooking the Ligurian Sea.  Founders are the Province of Genoa and the Municipality of Sestri Levante.

The purpose of the Foundation is to promote advanced research and the dissemination of the culture of communication, understood as the exchange of information using all media, from the printed word, to the most advanced technologies.

The congress is made up by former convent of the Dominican Fathers, built in 1496 at the far tip of the peninsula of Sestri Levante and Palazzo Negrotto Cambiaso, one of the most important buildings that overlook the Bay of Silence, built in the second half of the eighteenth century.

In this structure there are the modular spaces for teaching and traditional media, an auditorium with a capacity of 300 seats, conference rooms, meetings and seminars, terraces and gardens for about 950 square meters and private parking. The prestigious complex is perfect to organize any kind of convention, meeting or presentation.

The Foundation and the companies called "Projects Residents" coordinated measures to develop the functionality of a center of national and international importance in the field of information technology and digital communication, while providing an advanced range of services to the area.
