Visit Cinque Terre (“The Five Lands”) with the five villages Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre
National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Their colorful houses bunched closely together, clinged to the rocky coast rather like eagles´ nest. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible "modern" development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach it from the outside.

LIQURIAN CULINARY COOKING CLASS

Enjoy Liguria, a region known for its mild climate, charming port towns, miles of hiking trails and fresh local cuisine. The regional cuisine of Liguria benefits from its extensive coastline and proximity to France, Piedmont and Tuscany, creating a gastronomy based on fresh vegetables and herbs, such as in the famous “pesto alla Genovese”.

During the Ligurian Culinary Session the participants get to know Basil and Typical Local Herbs and how to prepare the original Pesto Genovese. After the visit of a Local Fresh Pasta Producer the lunch will be prepared: Pasta Italiana con Pesto Genovese!! The highlight of this culinary course is the assistance by Giuliano who worked at the world famous Hotel Splendido at Portofino!!

The package includes: The culinary session includes the getting know of pesto sauce, made up of basil and Typical Local Herbs as well as visiting a Local Fresh Pasta Producer. Assistance by Giuliano, an Italian, English-speaking local chef who worked for the Hotel Spendido at Portofino. WINE TASTING & OLIVE OIL DEGUSTATION

As well as typically Italian dishes Liguria offers a multitude of products produces in the region – such as its excellent white wine and the native olive oil. The participants meet in a typical Enoteca and get to know Ligurian white wines and red wines by a local sommelier. Furthermore they will taste the native olive oil produced in Liguria.

After the wine and olive oil-tasting the participants will be welcomed in a Ligurian restaurant with an unforgettable view over the Ligurian coast. Numerous Ligurian antipasti, a risotto as well as the excellent fish and seafood specialties will be part of the degustation lunch at this special location at Sestri Levante. Festing and enjoyment in Liguria for real gourmets!

The package includes: Wine-tasting of Ligurian wines and native olive oils in a typical Enoteca at Sestri Levante. After a short walk the participants will be welcomed to a 4-course-lunch including 0,5l of mineral water and 0,25l of wine in a Ligurian Restaurant with a nice view over the Ligurian coast.

GENOA Genoa Tour, accommodations and departure from Genoa airport

Genoa is the birthplace to an extremely valuable artistic heritage and has the largest historic center in Europe. Walking trough the narrow, medieval alleys (caruggi) the visitors can admire the magnificent “Cathedral of San Lorenzo” and visit one of the “Palazzi Dei Rolli”, the ancient residences of the noble
families which were declared part of the World Heritage, together with the “Strade Nuove” (“New Roads”) Via Garibaldi and Via Balbi. The main features of central Genoa include Piazza de Ferrari, around which are sited the Opera and the Palace of the Doges. There is also a house where Christopher Columbus is said to have been born. Other landmarks of the city include the “Porto Antico” (Old Harbour), transformed into a mall by architect Renzo Piano, where a large aquarium is located.

The Genoa City Tour starts at 09:00 am at the Conference Center. Transfer to the 5-star “Grand Hotel Savoia” and luggage drop off. After the sight-seeing tour of the historic center, the visitors will proceed to the “Porto Antico” (“Old Harbour”) of Genoa and have lunch. Visit of the Old Harbour. The Genoa City Tour ends at approx. 04:30 pm at the Grand Hotel Savoia.

Detailed schedule: Beginning of the Tour at the Conference Center at: 9:00 am, transfer to Genoa by private shuttle to the Grand Hotel Savoia and luggage drop off. Beginning of the Genoa city tour in the historic part of Genoa (e. g. with the visit of the cathedral of San Lorenzo, a part of the “Palazzo Ducale”) a walk through the typical caruggi (alleys) and then a walk to the Old Harbour and lunch at approx. 12:30 am in a nice restaurant with a 3-course-menu (0,5l of water and 0,25l of wine included). At approx. 02:30 pm visit of the Old Harbour and at approx. 03:30 pm walk back to the hotel. Then the participants still have the possibility to visit museums like “Palazzi dei Rolli” (Palazzo Rosso e Palazzo Bianco) on their own (the museum card
includes entrance in 21 museums).
