Oral Presentations

Oral abstracts are currently CLOSED-
Oral abstract presentations are restricted to a fifteen (15) minute time allotment - 12 minute lecture and 3 minutes for questions.  Oral Presentations are limited and will be selected based on scientific content and submission date.  Delegates not selected for Oral Presentation, are encouraged to submit a Poster Presentation.

Awards for Student* Oral Presentation
Student* oral presentation awards will be presented for best presentation.

• 2nd Place: $500

• 3rd Place: $500

*Students will be notified and must submit a signed letter from department chair.  Abstracts submitted without a signed letter will not be accepted for awards.  Letters may be faxed or email to the following:

Awards will be presented at the Conference Banquet (Thursday, September 25th).  All contestants should attend.

The Program Committee considers posters an important contribution to the success of this conference. The poster presentations will be given particular emphasis at the conference. Many of the presentations will provide information that was thought to be better suited to the higher level of exposure and interaction that a poster presentation affords. For this reason, and given the nature of the conference, poster presentations are seen as an extremely important venue for information exchange.

ELIGIBILITY: Author of any poster presented at the meeting will be eligible for the prize.  Author must be registered as a conference delegate and pay registration fees.

• 1st Place: $1,000

• 2nd Place: $500

• 3rd Place: $500

Awards will be presented to the author at the Conference Banquet (Thursday, September 25th).  All contestants should attend.

Poster Format

Poster Boards
Presenters will be provided with a foam-board, approximately 39"(100cm) High x55"(140cm) Wide. Please organize your presentation to fit these dimensions. Pick-up foam-board at the Registration Desk during registration.

Prepare and attach you poster to foam-board prior 5:00pm September 24, 2008.  Posters will be assigned to a table number listed in our Conference Program Book (distributed at conference site). Find your assigned table to display your poster.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING POSTERS

• Include a photo of poster presenter, name, institution, city and country at the top left corner of your poster.

• Include abstract title and authors.

• Poster presenter is required to be present during Poster Session.  Co-authors are not required to be present.

• No audio/visual equipment will be allowed for poster presentation (No electrical will be provided).

• It is beneficial if you indicate (numbers, letters, or arrows) a preferred sequence to follow your material.

• Poster should be self-explanatory so that you are free to supplement and discuss any points of inquiry.  The poster session provides a more intimate forum for discussion than an oral presentation.  This becomes difficult if you are obliged to devote most of your time explaining your poster to a succession of visitors.

Criteria for Poster Award and Publication in our Conference Program Book
 

• Author of poster paper must register for meeting prior to August 15, 2008 and be present at conference.
• Poster paper will be removed from program, conference program book and poster competition if author has not registered prior to August 15, 2008.
• Authors of poster abstracts are required to be present during Poster Session.  Substitutions of the original author will eliminate paper from poster award competition.
• Co-authors are not required to be present.
• No audio/visual equipment will be allowed for poster presentation (No electrical will be provided).
