CONFERENCE Tour- Kyoto, Japan
K
yoto
is Japans cultural treasure house. With an
astonishing 1600 Buddhist temples, 400 Shinto shrines, a trio of palaces,
dozens of perfectly sculptured gardens and museums housing some 20% of Japans
National Treasures, Kyoto ranks as one of the most culturally rich cities on
the planet. More than any other city in Japan, Kyoto thrives on its ancient
heritage. You must visit this mist-shrouded enchantment of old Japan.
Kyoto is the birthplace of many of Japans finest
traditions, including schools of geisha training, flower arrangement, and tea
ceremony. It is only in Kyoto these arts can be seen as performed in their
original settings. Kyoto pottery, fabrics, tea ceremony, dance, cuisine and
calligraphy are still highly regarded throughout Japan.
On your tour you will explore Nijo Castle and the old
Imperial Palace. You will visit the breathtaking Kinkaku-ji, the Golden
Pavilion, which overlooks the Kyoto-ike (Mirror Pond). Your tour continues to
the nearby city of Nara and experience the striking Todaiji Temple, the
beautiful Kasuga Shrine, and hand feed the animals of Deer Park. Kyoto
masterfully combines traditional and contemporary thought, along with nature
and technology, to create a city unique in all the world.
